A friend of mine sat in the cinema and wore his own glasses and then a pair of 3D glasses over the top, so determined was he to get the “full effect” of the latest 3D movie. Not sure how he felt, but it didn’t look that cool. 3D (dimensional) is the buzzword at the moment and now we’ve move from HD ready to 3D compatible with domestic TVs as well! All sorts of 3D glasses can be divided into 2 classes: active and passive. Active 3D glasses interact wirelessly with pictures on a screen to improve 3D viewing, while passive glasses don’t. Passive 3D glasses have been about since 3D viewing first arrived in the 1920s, and are they split into two major subcategories: anaglyphic and polarized glasses.
